We went to see the Atomium which was built in 1958 for the World fair in Brussels. It is supposed to represent an atom of something (cannot remember what) magnified 165 billion times. Unfortunately it was closed for refurbishment. Aha, wikipedia says it is an Iron crystal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomium

It was snowy!
We got lost on a tram, and then the tram got stuck as the points kept freezing up. Took hours to get to the hotel and then we found we could have walked there in 20 minutes.
